Professor Gilles Dorronsoro, of Sorbonne University and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, will deliver a lecture titled "Is the War Lost? Assessing Contradictory Claims on the Afghan War." Professor Dorronsoro has studied and written about politics and war in Afghanistan since the early 1990s and was most recently there in March and July of this year. He is often quoted in the New York Times, the Washington Post, and other media outlets, has written a series of influential reports on the current war in Afghanistan, and is the author of the acclaimed Revolution Unending: Afghanistan, 1979 to the present (Columbia U. Press, 2005).
