Pola OLOIXARAC (1977, Argentina) is a fiction writer, translator, essayist and blogger. Her first novel, Las teorC-as salvajes (Wild Theories) was published in 2008 and is forthcoming in French, Dutch and Portuguese translations. Oloixarac's articles and essays on culture and technology have appeared in journals and magazines such as "Radar," "Etiqueta Negra," "Quimera," and "Brando," among others. Her blog can be found at: Oloixarac's work, that echoes the new media-saturated world we live in with an original, erudite voice, has attracted the attention of academics, literary critics, pundits and bloggers. She was awarded the Beca Fondo Nacional de las Artes in 2010 and she currently participates in the International Writers Program at the University of Iowa, courtesy of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. The talk will be in Spanish.
