Lecture: The shaping of Dubai

Dr. Ahmed Kanna, Professor in the School of International Studies at the University of the Pacific, will discuss the social, historical, and cultural struggles that have shaped the making of Dubai. He has edited a collection of chapters on the local and global architectural, political, and economic contexts of real estate projects, speed of urbanization, and planning tactics titled The Superlative City: Dubai and the Urban Condition in the Early 21st Century.
