General Interest

California is broken: State revenues have eroded; our legislature has failed to pass a budget on time 22 times in the past 30 years; funding for higher education decreased while funding for prisons increased; our schools are the worst in the nation; unemployment is 12.2%; and California is consistently ranked the worst state in which to do business. "Rebooting California" will explore issues affecting education and service budget cuts. The keynote speech will be delivered by President of De Anza College Brian Murphy.
