Lay health workers (LHWs) from Chinese American communities, including Chinese medicine practitioners, are the main subject of this CBPR research. Mixed methods, including surveys, focus groups and ethnographic observations, will be used to examine the process and the effectiveness of LHWs to promote colorectal cancer screening among Chinese Americans in the San Francisco Bay Area.
