Lecture: Diasporic Scholarship in the Global University

Speaker: Vassilis Lambropoulos, C.P. Cavafy Chair, University of Michigan. Among scholars and other intellectuals in the Greek diaspora today, arguably the most dynamic network is that of Modern Greek faculty in English-speaking countries. This lecture by one of the leading commentators in the world on Greek culture will examine their modes of communication as well as their interaction with the public sphere in Greece and with Greek communities elsewhere. This transnational approach to the academic diaspora should be of interest to specialists in several foreign languages and national cultures.
